Attending the workshop there were over 50 delegates including international scholars, overseas Vietnamese researchers, leading experts of universities and institutes from the U.S., Russia, Canada, Sweden, Australia..., and the researchers, jurists and representatives of ministries, sectors and localities in Vietnam as well.
The delegates, scholars attended the workshop to exchange ideas, analyse and clarify the legal and historical evidence in order to confirm that the State of Vietnam exercised continuously sovereignty and peace for the two Paracel and Spartly Archipelagos, in accordance with international legal practice and provisions on the sovereignty issue, settlement of disputes in the peaceful way over sovereignty of the two Paracels and Spratlys and related issues in the South China Sea today.
