Attending the event including Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Secretary Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, President of Provincial Students Association; Mr. Tran Dinh Tham - Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Rector of the University; Mr. Chau Van Luong, Mr. Pham Nghi - Vice Rectors; and the teachers from faculties, departments, centers of the University.
At the ceremony, the Secretary of The Youth Union of the University Mrs. Phung Thi Phuong Thao summarized the achievements of the teams achieved in the Olympic contests in the school year 2016-2017: Mathematical Olympiad team won 01 first and 1 third prize in Algebra, 01 third prize in Analytical. Pham Van Dong University has been promoted to Group A and honored to receive the Certificate of Merit of Vietnam Mathematical Association for outstanding achievement in the National Student Mathematics Olympiad 2017. Informatics Olympiad team has successfully won tickets to the National Round and participated in the Asian qualifying round. The Olympiad Team of Marx-Lenin and Ho Chi Minh ideology science subjects won 01 first prize, 03 second prizes and 04 third prizes in individual weekly rounds; 1 first prize in the area, the first prize in the Central region and the 3rd prize in the National Round; The Youth Onion of PDU was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Central Youth Union which has the highest proportion of candidates taking part in the collective exam.
Addressing the ceremony, the representative of the leaders Mr. Chau Van Luong, congratulated, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the students and the teams participating in the Olympiad Contests. At the same time, he also expressed deep gratitude to the Provincial Youth Union and the leaders of the units in the University, especially Faculty of Political Theory, Faculty of Fundamental Sciences and Faculty of Information Technology; and to the trainers for their training to the teams as well.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Management, Mr. Tran Dinh Tham and Mr. Chau Van Luong gave bouquets of fresh flowers to the Provincial Youth Union, the leaders of the Departments of participating teams and the sponsor of the ceremony - Viettin Bank. The Youth Union of Pham Van Dong University presented the certificate of merit to the students that have achieved excellent results in the Olympiad Contests in the school-year 2016-2017.
